city (1990 pop. 16,177), Palm Beach co., SE Fla., near the southern tip of Lake Okeechobee; inc. 1928. Belle Glade is a trade and processing center for a truck farm, sugarcane, and cattle-producing area. It has a large migrant-worker population. An agricultural experiment station is nearby.
