(b d N´) (KEY) , 193093, king of the Belgians (195193), son of Leopold III. He joined his father in exile (194550) in Switzerland. After their return to Belgium his fathers unpopularity led to Baudouins appointment (1950) as regent, and on Leopolds abdication (1951) Baudouin ascended the throne. In 1960 he married Fabiola de Mora y Aragón, a Spanish noblewoman. He was succeeded by his brother, Albert II. |
