Baker, Oliver Edwin
 
 
1883–1949, American economic geographer, grad. Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio. He studied forestry at Yale and agriculture and economics at the Univ. of Wisconsin (Ph.D., 1921). He served (1912–42) with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, largely in research on land utilization. Besides many articles and reports, he wrote with V. C. Finch Geography of the World’s Agriculture (1917), and he edited the Atlas of American Agriculture.
