NOUN:An inclination of the head or body, as in greeting, consent, courtesy, submission, or worship: curtsy, genuflection, kowtow, nod, obeisance. See COURTESY.
VERB:1. To conform to the will or judgment of another, especially out of respect or courtesy: defer2, submit, yield. Idioms: give ground, give way. See PRECEDE, RESIST. 2. To incline the body: arch, bend, hump, hunch, scrunch, stoop. See POSTURE. 3. To give in from or as if from a gradual loss of strength: buckle, capitulate, submit, succumb, surrender, yield. Informal : fold. See RESIST.
