VERB:1. To let go or get rid of as being useless or defective, for example: discard, dispose of, junk, scrap1, throw away, throw out. Informal : chuck, jettison, shuck (off). Slang : ditch. See KEEP. 2. To get rid of completely by selling, especially in quantity or at a discount: close out, sell off, sell out, unload. See TRANSACTIONS. 3. To remove the cargo or load from: disburden, discharge, unlade, unload. See PUT IN.
