(EYEK-muhn, EYEKH-muhn) A Nazi official who was responsible for the torture and killing of millions of Jews during the Holocaust. He escaped capture immediately after World War II but was apprehended in Argentina fifteen years later by agents of Israel. In Israel, he was convicted of crimes against humanity and hanged.  1
